A journey to Lake Holon with Team KAON!☺

Location: Lake Holon, T'boli, South Cotabato
Date: April 2-4, 2016

Finally, we experienced Lake Holon after several failed plans and previous attempts, and I'm thankful to make it again with my Sanchez Peak buddies. It's one of the most commonly go-to place nowadays but as much as I don't want to go with a lot of crowd in a weekend, I just imagined it it has been waiting for me pretty while, too.

View Deck at Salacafe Trail.

We hit the road from Davao City to Tboli, South Cotabato for approximately 5 hours. From the municipality of Tboli, we trailed off to Sitio Salacafe (registration/jump off) via habal-habal for another hour or two, over a long dusty road.

The hiking starts after a short orientation from the locals. We reached the majestic Lake Holon after 3 hours passing a clear way between trees and grasses.

Nabol (Century Tree)

You will observe several of these carved woods along the trail

"Kotung Busaw" or Witches' slaughterhouse.

Another fun-filled activity which can also be done in Tboli as a side trip adventure, is the canyoneering in Bakngeb Cave. It's very much exciting despite the strong water current because of the vest provided. Caution from hitting the rocks, however, should be observed, and the length of the cave to explore inside isn't that long. It's worth a Php50 more or less.

Big thanks to Russel Rejaba and Roselyn Ponayo for guiding us on this trip!
